Full moon over the Tiber river, outside my bedroom window right now.
Spent the day on Ladispoli beach, the sand was black <3

Handstands! haha..

Addicted to these sandwiches.

Hiding from the sun.

My classmates and I.

My Italian friend Vittorio and I :)

Colosseum by moonlight.

I met up with a friend after class to discuss a music collaboration over coffee. We walked around afterwards and he took me to the Fontana di Trevi to toss a wish coin into the fountain.

Tomato and olive oil bruschetta and a cappuccino.

Mushroom fettuccine.
Photos from the Basilica of St. Bartholomew. This church houses the remains of St. Bartholomew, who was supposedly flayed (skinned) alive.

Lit a wish.

Greek Salad.

Egyptian Obelisk brought to Rome by Augustus after the Battle of Actium.

Crappy class sketches of an Ara Pacis relief.

The Pantheon.

Dome within the Pantheon.

Too much walking.
Or better, the Flavian Amphitheater..

We spent today’s class examining the Roman Forum.. and spent our free afternoon climbing the Palatine Hill and visiting the Colosseum.

The best seat to view the Forum, and away from other tourists.

Temple of Antoninus Pius and Faustina. The columns are monolithic, carved of one single piece.

Panoramic reflection.

Hijacking a couple marble pebbles.
Walking to class, stopped to view the Altare della Patria and jot down some sketches while we waited for our teacher to arrive.

Here are some more photos of the beautiful Italian villa I am living out of this summer.

Intact Medieval alleyway.

Garden in the atrium.

View of the garden from my bedroom window.

View of the Tiber River from my window :)
We began the first day of class at the Musei Capitolini. Words can’t describe how beautiful this place is, so here are some photos..

Top of the hill’s staircase.

Atrium of the museums.

Blowing a kiss to Lupa Capitolina, symbol of Rome.

Sam Edelman meets Medieval cobblestone.

A quick snack at the cafe, I love the standing tables here.

Breathtaking view from the terrace beside the musei’s cafe.

Famous busts of the Roman humanities.

My first day waking up in Rome :) We got up early to visit the marketplace for some gorceries. We picked up some fruit to have with breakfast. This funny butcher called me to his stand for a photo, I only agreed if I could hold the knife!
